PUBLIC HEARING 7A <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: January 27, 2014 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Round Lake Road Area Improvements - Public Hearing <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />The Council should first conduct the Public Hearing for the proposed Round Lake Road Area <br />Improvements. At the conclusion of the Public Hearing the Council should consider adopting <br />the following two Resolutions: <br /> <br /> <br />1.Resolution 2014-010 Ordering the Improvement for the Round Lake Road Area <br /> <br />2.Resolution 2014-011 Approving the Plans and Specifications and Ordering the <br />Advertisement for Bids for the Round Lake Road Area Improvements <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />At the July 29, 2013, meeting the Council hired Elfering and Associates to prepare a feasibility <br />report for the Round Lake Road, Gateway Boulevard and Gateway Court Area. The feasibility <br />report was received by the Council at the December 9, 2013, meeting at which time Resolution <br />2013-045 was adopted Ordering the Public Hearing be held on January 27, 2014. A copy of the <br />feasibility report is attached. <br /> <br />Staff has published and mailed the notices of the Public Hearing required by State Statute. In <br />addition, staff sent notices of the hearing to all tenants of the buildings in the area to keep them <br />informed of the process. <br /> <br />At the Public Hearing staff will be prepared to present a brief history of the discussions regarding <br />road improvements in the area. This history dates back several years. In addition, Kristie <br />Elfering of Elfering and Associates will provide a presentation of the feasibility report findings. <br />Both staff and Kristie will be prepared to answer questions from the Council and/or property <br />owners and tenants. <br /> <br />12 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
