MEMORANDUM <br />6.A <br />DATE: <br />February 5, 2014PC Agenda Item <br />TO: <br />Planning Commission <br />FROM: <br />Ryan Streff, City Planner <br />SUBJECT:Report from the City Council <br />January 13, 2014, City Council Meeting <br />At the January 13, 2014, City Council meeting, the Council approved(5-0)Planning Case 13- <br />020 for an accessory structure setback variance at 3324 Lake Johanna Boulevard. The Council <br />also voted to approve (5-0)Planning Case 13-021 for a PUD Amendment and SitePlan Review <br />for a 1,310 square foot addition on Boston Scientific’scampus. The Planning Commission <br />recommended approval of both of these cases at their December 4, 2013, meeting. <br />January 13, 2014, City Council Work Session <br />City Council and staff discussed the City’s existing minimum unit size standards for multi- <br />family dwelling units at the January 13, 2014, City Council work session. The Council directed <br />staff to make adjustments to the standards to increase the minimum floor space required for two- <br />bedroom and three-bedroom units, and to reduce the area requirement for efficiency units. Staff <br />is now working on an ordinance to amend the Zoning Code to reflect these changes. The <br />Planning Commission will review the proposed amendment prior to Council approval. <br />January 27, 2014, City Council Meeting <br />At the January 27, 2014, City Council meeting, the Council voted to approve (5-0) a sign <br />standard adjustment for Arden Villageat 1290 County Road F, allowing the property additional <br />temporary leasing signage. The Council reviewed the proposed PUD Amendment at 1201 <br />County RoadEand voted to deny (5-0) the application. The Council instructed the City Attorney <br />to draft findings of fact for the denial, which will be reviewed by the Council at the February 10, <br />2014, meeting.
