Through this we will determine a few things: what size roller works the best for them; can we continue to just rent a larger roller when we need it; if we determine it would be good to have a larger roller in our fleet, are there used ones that would be available. 3.Replace 2002 Groundmaster with Snow Blower The 2014 CIP has an item in it to replace the 2002 Groundmaster with Snow Blower. The item is budgeted at $39,000 including an estimated $3,500 auction value for the old piece of equipment. This piece of equipment has primarily been used in the winter months on the ice rinks and trails. We would like to propose a change to this CIP item. We would suggest the purchase of a Tool Cat with Snow Blower. The reason for this is twofold. First, we have been using our current Tool Cat on rinks this season and it is just as functional (some of our guys think it is better) as the Groundmaster. With our current Tool Cat we have a number of tools that attach such as a brush hog, plow, V-plow, bucket and sweeper. Having a second piece of equipment that these tools can be used on would give us more versatility. Finally, the 2002 Groundmaster has limited value, maybe not even the estimated $3,500. If we kept that piece of equipment we would put a mower deck on it and use it to mow along trails to save wear and tear on the new Z-Mowers. The cost of a new Tool Cat with a snow blower is $49,000; this is $10,000 more than budgeted in the CIP. To help bridge that gap we would propose sending the John Deere Tractor to auction since, with another Tool Cat, its functionality would be redundant. The value of the John Deere is estimated at $6,000-8,000. This would still leave a small gap that could hopefully be made up with the savings on the Plow Truck. 22 Page of
