NEW BUSINESS 8B MEMORANDUM DATE: February 24, 2014 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers Patrick Klaers, City Administrator FROM: Matthew Bachler, Associate Planner SUBJECT: Planning Case #14-005 Applicant: Allina Health Emergency Medical Services Property Location: 1209 County Road E Request: Conditional Use Permit Ambulance Dispatch Facility Requested Action Motion to approve Planning Case 14-005 for a Conditional Use Permit to allow Allina Health Emergency Medical Services to operate an ambulance substation at 1209 County Road E, based on the findings of fact and the submitted plans, as amended by the six (6) conditions in the February 24, 2014, Report to the City Council. Please note that approval of this planning case is contingent on the approval of the proposed Zoning Code Amendment in Planning Case 14-004. The amendment would create a new definition for the proposed ambulance dispatch facility land use and permit the use as a conditional use within the B-2 General Business District. Although the Planning Commission recommended denial of the requested Zoning Code Amendment in Planning Case 14-004, they still reviewed Planning Case 14-005 at their meeting on February 5, 2014 in order to hold the required public hearing for this case. The review was completed assuming Planning Case 14-004 would be approved.
