Approved: CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA PLANNING COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2014 6:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Vice Chair Roberta Thompson called to order the regular Planning Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. ROLL CALL Present were: Commissioners Brent Bartel, Angela Hames, Andrew Holewa, Steven Jones (Alternate), and Vice Chair Roberta Thompson. Absent: Chair Clayton Larson, Commissioners Sam Scott and Clayton Zimmerman. Also present were: Community Development Director Jill Hutmacher; City Planner Ryan Streff; Associate Planner Matthew Bachler; and Council Liaison Fran Holmes. APPROVAL OF AGENDA FEBRUARY 5, 2014 Vice Chair Thompson stated the agenda will stand as published. APPOINTMENT OF PLANNING COMMISSIONER City Planner Streff stated that Steven Jones submitted an application to be considered for s and committees appointments, the applicant was interviewed by a panel consisting of the Mayor, the Chair of the Planning Commission, the Council Liaison to the Planning Commission, and the Staff Liaison to the Planning Commission. City Planner Streff explained the interview panel agreed that Mr. Jones would be a valuable addition to the Planning Commission based on his interview, his qualifications, and his experience. Mayor Grant asked that staff prepare a recommendation for the City Council to appoint Mr. Jones to the Planning Commission as an alternate member. City Planner Streff reported that during the Regular City Council meeting on January 27, 2014, the Council unanimously approved the recommendation from Mayor Grant to appoint Mr. Jones as an alternate member on the Planning Commission.
