March 31, 2014 <br />Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />Terry Maurer, Public Works Director <br />One-Ton Truck Purchase <br />$70,000$80,645.00Equipment/Building <br />Replacement Fund <br />Authorize the purchase of a Ford one-ton diesel chassis from Midway Ford and the outfitting of <br />the chassis with a lift box, plow and sander at Truck Utilities for a total cost of $80,645.00. The <br />Council is also requested to authorize sending the 2002 Ford one-ton to auction in the fall of this <br />year once the new truck has arrived. <br />The 2014 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes an item for the replacement of a 2002 Ford <br />one-ton truck equipped with a plow and sander.A copy of the detailed sheet from the CIP is <br />attached. <br />The City of Arden Hills maintains a free membership in the Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing <br />Venture Program. This allows the City to participate in the State specifications and bid prices, <br />resulting in the City paying the same amount for a single piece of equipment as the State does for <br />numerous pieces. <br />The 2014 CIP has an estimated budget for the purchase of the new one-ton with plow and sander <br />of $70,000.00 including an estimated $10,000.00 auction value for the old truck.Midway Ford <br />is the State vendor for the one-ton truck chassis.
