STAFF COMMENTS 3A <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: May 12, 2014 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Jill Hutmacher, Community Development Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: TCAAP Update <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Development and Design of On-Site Infrastructure <br />On May 1, 2014, Ramsey County received four proposals for the development and design of on- <br />May 12, 2014, and a consultant team will be chosen in time to allow work to proceed before the <br />end of this month. <br /> <br />Demolition and Remediation <br />The demolition of the final remaining building on the site, Building 502, is scheduled to occur in <br />May/June 2014. Work on soil remediation and removal of building pads and footings is <br />continuing. <br /> <br />Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) <br />Public comments on the draft AUAR and Mitigation Plan are being accepted until May 28, 2014. <br />The City Council is tentatively scheduled to review the final document on June 30, 2014, with <br />approval in July. <br /> <br />LCDA Application <br />The City submitted a Project Concept Plan, which is essentially a pre-application to the <br />The application includes a request for $1,605,000 in Livable Community Act (LCA) funds for <br />sidewalks and trails, lighting, landscaping, site preparation and grading, and architecture and <br />engineering for public improvements in the TCAAP North Gateway Area which extends from <br />the entrance to the site at I-35W/County Road H south through the town center. <br /> <br />By June 2, 2014, the Metropolitan Council will notify the City if it will be invited to submit a <br />full application.
