<br />PUBLIC HEARINGS 7B <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: May 12, 2014 <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council members <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: John Anderson, Assistant City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Round Lake Road Area Improvements <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount Actual Amount Funding Source <br />$2,627,650.00 $2,485,247.71 MSA, Excess TIF, <br /> Assessments, Water <br />Utility, Surface Water <br />Funds, PIR <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />The City Council is requested to approve the following: <br /> <br />1.Hold Assessment Hearing <br /> <br />2.Adopt Resolution 2014-027 Adopting Assessment Roll for the Round Lake Road Area <br />Improvement (this can be adopted with any changes the Council deems appropriate) <br /> <br />3.Adopt Resolution 2014-028 Awarding the Round Lake Road Area Improvement to <br />Meyer Contracting, Inc., in the amount of $1,766,605.41 <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />On January 27, 2014, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2014-011 Approving the Plans <br />and Specifications and Ordering the Advertisement for Bids. Bids were solicited during <br />March/April and opened on Thursday, April17, 2014. <br /> <br />A portion of the costs for the Round Lake Road Area project are proposed to be assessed against <br />costs, the City must follow the process outlined in State Statute 429. On April 28, 2014, after the <br />bids were opened, the City Council adopted Resolution 2014-023 Declaring the Amount of the <br />Cost to be Assessed and set today as the date for the assessment hearing. A public hearing prior <br />to adopting the assessments is a requirement of State Statute 429. <br /> <br />13 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
