UNFINISHED BUSINESS 9A <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: May 12, 2014 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director <br />John Anderson, Assistant City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Round Lake Road - Construction Engineering Services <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Authorize accepting the proposal, on an hourly basis, from Elfering and Associates for <br />Construction Services (resident inspector and survey crew) for the Round Lake Road <br />improvement working under the direction of John Anderson, Assistant City Engineer. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />As the Round Lake Road Improvement heads towards construction, there are some engineering <br />services that will be needed to complete the project. John Anderson, Assistant City Engineer, - <br />will lead the project from a City staff perspective but will need a resident inspector and survey <br />crew. Attached is a letter of proposal from Elfering and Associates to provide these services on <br />an hourly basis under the direction of John Anderson. and my estimate of the <br />hours required and Elfering and Associates hourly rates, it is estimated their services will amount <br />to about $185,000 total. <br /> <br />Elfering and Associates is the firm that provided preliminary engineering services based on <br />proposals from three firms. They have also provided resident inspection services for several <br />recent projects including the 2011 PMP, Valentine Park Improvement and the 2013 PMP.
