ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION—November 19, 2007 4 <br /> ■ $35,000 Consultant Fee for Design of the County Road E business district <br /> Consensus reached by Council to fund $35,000 for a consultant to assist the City with <br /> design preparation of the County Road E business district. <br /> B. 2008-212 proposed CIP <br /> City Administrator Wolfe stated the 2008 CIP Budget is critical at this point. She made <br /> note of the changes and recommendations by Council. <br /> Consensus reached by Council to direct staff to build a concept plan and study in 2008 <br /> with implementation planned for 2009 for the CP Rail Bridge, Old Highway 10 Sidewalk <br /> Improvement project. <br /> Consensus reached by Council to discuss the Capital Improvement Plan again in <br /> December 2007. <br /> C. 2008 Proposed Compensation Plan/Pay Equity <br /> Councilmember Grant summarized the meeting with the consultant and reported they <br /> decided to base the pay rates on the 55 percentile and to remove Shoreview from the <br /> equation. He explained they looked at implementing symmetry within pay grades. <br /> Councilmember Grant presented the revised Compensation Plan/Pay Equity Plan. <br /> City Administrator Wolfe pointed out the information is based on 2007 data. <br /> Consensus reached by Council that they are in agreement with the assumptions. <br /> Consensus reached by Council to move in the direction of the revised Compensation <br /> Plan/Pay Equity Plan and to direct staff to prepare the new plan for implementation on <br /> December 1, 2007 and a 3% COLA adjustment for 2008. <br /> 4. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND REQUESTS <br /> Mayor Harpstead presented the issue of donating $500 to the Lake Johanna Association <br /> to eliminate the geese population at Lake Johanna. <br /> Consensus reached by Council to not donate $500 to the Lake Johanna Association to <br /> eliminate the geese population at Lake Johanna at this time. Council directed staff to find <br /> the information presented earlier this year. <br /> Councilmember Grant questioned whether staff received information about the Holiday <br /> Inn. <br /> City Administrator Wolfe stated she had not heard any definite news. <br />
