ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL APRIL 14, 20142 <br /> <br />The final consultant selection and project initiation is expected in mid-May. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br /> reported that at the April 7, 2014, Joint <br />Development Authority (JDA) meeting, the Commission discussed the application process and <br />requirements for Livable Communities grants administered by the Metropolitan Council. Grants <br />are available to cities that have negotiated long-term affordable and lifecycle housing goals <br /> housing chapter of the current <br />Comprehensive Plan. In addition, the City has agreed to a goal range for the number of new <br />affordable and life-cycle housing units for the years 2011-2020. The range is based on TCAAP <br />redevelopment plans contemplated in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Affordable Housing Goals Range Life-Cycle Housing Goals Range <br />187-288 285-800 <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br /> stated that the staff memo to the JDA, which <br />describes the grant programs, eligible expenditures, and the application process as well as the <br />HAP is included in the Council packet. A City Council resolution of support is required for any <br />LCA application. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br /> indicated that special and regular City Council <br />work sessions have been scheduled to discuss issues related to the Master Plan and City <br />infrastructure.
