CONSENT ITEM 5E <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE:June 30, 2014 <br />TO:Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />FROM:Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT:Resolution 2014-032 Approving Charitable Gambling License for <br />St.Katherine Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Pot O Gold Bingo <br />Background <br />OnMay29,2012,theCityCouncilapprovedResolution2012-015approvingatwoyear <br />licenseforSt.KatherineUkrainianOrthodoxChurchatPotOGoldBingo.St. <br />Katherineshassubmittedanapplicationtorenewthislicense.Abackgroundcheckhas <br />been completed by the Ramsey County Sheriffs Office. <br />Accordingtotheirapplication,Alldonationswillgotoeligibleorganizationsinthe <br />ArdenHillsTradeArea.Additionally,10%oftheirnetprofitsarecontributedtothe <br />CityofArdenHillstoaspecialfundadministeredbytheCityCouncil;andtheyalsopay <br />aLocalGamblingTaxof3%oftheirgrossreceipts(lessprizespaidout)totheCityto <br />cover expenses incurred for regulating gambling activity. <br />Recommendation <br />Motion to approve Resolution 2014-032 approving a charitable gambling license for St. <br />Katherines Ukrainian Orthodox Church at Pot O Gold Bingo; license to expire June 30, <br />2016. <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Resolution 2014-032 <br />Attachment B:2014 Charitable Gambling Premise Permit Application <br />
