CONSENT ITEM 5F <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE:June 30, 2014 <br />TO:Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />FROM:Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br />SUBJECT:Resolution 2014-033 Approving a Premise Permit Application for <br />Chops, Inc. for Charitable Gambling at Flahertys Arden Bowl <br />Background <br />StaffhasreceivedapremisepermitapplicationfromChops,Inc.forcharitablegambling <br />atFlahertysArdenBowl.Allofthenecessarypaperworkhasbeensubmittedanda <br />background check has been sent to the Ramsey County Sheriffs Office. <br />Accordingtotheirapplication,Alldonationswillgotoeligibleorganizationsinthe <br />ArdenHillsTradeArea.Additionally,10%oftheirnetprofitsarecontributedtothe <br />CityofArdenHillstoaspecialfundadministeredbytheCityCouncil;andtheyalsopay <br />aLocalGamblingTaxof3%oftheirgrossreceipts(lessprizespaidout)totheCityto <br />cover expenses incurred for regulating gambling activity. <br />Recommendation <br />Motion to approve Resolution 2014-033 approving a premise permit for Chops, Inc. for <br />charitable gambling at Flahertys Arden Bowl; contingent upon a successful background <br />check.
