The ground floor space can be used for residential, office, personal service <br />or retail uses. Residential uses may or may not be located within the building. It is especially <br />appropriate for incubating neighborhood-serving retail and service uses and allowing some <br />adjoining streets and multi-modal corridors to expand as the market demands. <br /> <br />Stacked Flats <br />Stacked flats building type is a medium-sized structure that consists of less than 12 side-by- <br />side and/or stacked dwelling units, typically with one shared entry. This type of building can <br />include a courtyard apartment. This type is appropriately-scaled to fit within medium-density <br />neighborhoods or as transitions between neighborhoods and commercial corridors.
