Plazas add to the vibrancy of streets within the <br />higher density zones and create formal open spaces available for <br />civic purposes and commercial activity. Building frontages shall <br />define these spaces. <br /> <br />The landscape should have a balance of hardscape and planting. <br />Various types of seating should be provided from planter seat <br />walls, to steps, to benches, to tables, and chairs. Trees should be <br />provided for shade. They should be formally arranged and of <br />appropriate scale. Plazas typically should be located at the <br />intersection of important streets.
