Table 9-23 establishes the Private Personal Open Space requirement based on the proposed intensity and type of residential development. Live-work units are exempted from Private Personal Open Space requirements. Table 9-23 Private Personal Open Space Requirements Residential Density (dwellings per acre) Private Personal Open Space Standard Proposed 7 - 19 DU / acre Ground floor units: all dwelling units shall have private personal open space including one of the following: Porch, Stoop, Patio, or Deck or combination Upper floor units: 60% of all dwelling units shall have a balcony. 20 – 29 DU / acre Ground floor units: all dwelling units shall have one of the following: Porch, Stoop, Patio, or Deck Upper floor units: 60% of all dwelling units shall have a Balcony. 30-39 DU / acre Ground floor dwelling units: All units shall include one of the following: Porch, Stoop, Patio, or Deck Upper floor dwelling units: 50% of all upper dwelling units shall have a Balcony. 40-79 / acre Ground floor dwelling units: All exterior facing units shall include one of the following: Porch, Stoop Garden, Patio, or Deck Upper floor dwelling units: 40% of upper units shall have a Balcony. More than 80 DU / acre Ground floor dwelling units: All exterior facing units shall include one of the following: Porch, Stoop, Patio, Deck, or Juliet Upper floor dwelling units: 30% of upper units shall have a Balcony. (d) Attachment 3 shall provide the palette of open/civic space types.
