<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2014 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br /> <br />Co-Chair Van Valkenburg called the October 21, 2014, meeting of the Parks, Trails, and Recreation <br />Committee to order at 6:31 p.m. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Co-Chair John Van Valkenburg and Committee Members Harold <br />Petersen, Jennifer Stephens, Chuck Michaelson, Matt Trites, Nancy O’Malley, Phil Kramlinger, <br />Steve Scott. <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Staff Liaison Sara Grant, Council Liaison Dave McClung (arrived at 6:35 <br />p.m.), and Tina Kulzer (Communications Committee). <br /> <br />ABSENT: Committee Members Cindy Garretson, Don Messerly, and Rich Straumann. <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />MOTION: Co-Chair Van Valkenburg motioned to approve the agenda seconded by Committee <br />Member Petersen. The motion carried unanimously (8-0). <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – June 17, 2014 and September 16, 2014 <br /> <br />MOTION: Committee Member Petersen motioned to approve the June 17, 2014 minutes as <br />submitted seconded by Committee Member Michaelson. The motion carried <br />unanimously (8-0). <br /> <br />Committee Member O’Malley asked that the words but questioned the cost be eliminated at the end <br />of the 3rd sentence in the last paragraph on page 1. <br /> <br />Committee Member Petersen asked that the last sentence of paragraph 5 on page 4 be amended to <br />read Staff will check to see what it would take to establish new grass. <br /> <br />MOTION: Committee Member Scott motioned to approve the September 16, 2014 minutes as <br />amended seconded by Committee Member O’Malley. The motion carried <br />unanimously (8-0). <br /> <br />3. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Communications Committee – Tina Kulzer <br /> <br />Tina Kulzer provided a brief background stating she joined the Communications <br />Committee in April and had suggested doing a series of park articles for the newsletter.
