Neighborhood

Background/Discussion

Two different neighborhoods are being considered for 2015 Pavement Management Program
(PMP) projects: Venus/Crystal Neighborhood and the Grant/Noble/Lake Lane Neighborhood.
Separate public hearings were held on January 9, 2015 (Venus/Crystal) and January 26, 2015
(Grant/Noble/Lake Ln.). The two projects are being combined for bidding purposes to try to
gain economies of scale. However, the Statute 429 processes for each are continuing to be kept
separate.

The preparation of plans and specifications for each project was authorized by Resolutions 2015-
001 and 2015-007 adopted after each public hearing. The plans are now complete and ready for
bidding. Adoption of the two resolutions listed above will authorize the next step for each
project: approval of the plans and ordering the advertisement for bids. Bids will be received on
March 19th. Following the bid opening the results will presented to the Council on March 30th
with the appropriate resolutions to proceed to an assessment hearing for each project before
awarding the construction contract.

CONSENT ITEM – 5D

MEMORANDUM
