2 <br /> <br /> <br />Generates permits and answers questions related to permits and process. <br /> <br />Assists City Clerk and Administrative Services Director with Human Resource processes and maintains the <br />confidential nature of the items. <br /> <br />Processes payroll input and keeps files relating to payroll and worker’s compensation and other reporting <br />criteria. <br /> <br />Assists the Finance department with utility billing functions and accounts payable input. <br /> <br />Serves as back-up Customer Service Representative I as needed. <br /> <br />Assists Planner with file maintenance. <br /> <br />Assists other staff as necessary. <br /> <br />EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE <br />High school diploma or GEDAssociates/Technical degree with coursework in business, or related field and <br />moderate consideratble experience in technical training, IT, office support, word processing, or equivalent <br />combination of education and experience. Municipal experience desired. <br /> <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />General knowledge of the functions and activities of the City; general knowledge of standard office and <br />customer service procedures; ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance <br />instructions, policies, and regulations, ordinances, codes, contracts, and procedure manuals; ability to make <br />arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios, and <br />percentages; ability to prepare reports and correspondence; ability to communicate effectively both orally and <br />in writing; ability to understand and follow written and oral directions; ability to operate standard office <br />equipment including related hardware and software; ability to establish and maintain effective working <br />relationships with associates and the general public. <br /> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, using <br />hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires speaking or hearing and occasionally <br />requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; <br />vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is <br />required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written <br />or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no <br />exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, <br />light traffic). <br /> <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Specific job-related software training.Certified Municipal Clerk certification or ability to attain within four years of <br />hire. <br /> <br />SELECTION GUIDELINES <br />Formal application, rating of education and experience; oral interview and reference c heck; job related tests <br />may be required.
