This email is in support of the proposed residential building of 7 homes along
County Road E2 near the New Brighton Road intersection. This topic is an agenda item for
the March 30, 2015 Arden Hills Council meeting.

My husband, Clark, and I have lived in our home (1870 Indian Place, Arden Hills) for more
than 30 years, and my husband has lived in Arden Hills since the early 1950’s. We raised our
two children here. We enjoy the location for many reasons, especially with trails and multiple
parks as well as residing in the Mounds View school district.

I reviewed the attachments of the March 4th Planning Commission agenda and attended that
meeting to find out more about the proposed project and to speak in its support. The project
is better than I anticipated. I am happy to learn that the plan adds to the environmental
quality of the wetland and the very ‘green’ energy related aspects of each of the homes. It is
also good to know that this creative plan for 7 homes will only add one more driveway as an
exit/entry of County Road E2.

The builder, Hanson Builders, Inc., has a much known high quality reputation in many Twin
City communities for the past 35 years.

The 7 homes proposed will greatly improve the view of the land as the library and its parking
lot has sat vacant since the library opened in New Brighton. Also the adjacent building and
parking lot I understand to be also vacant. It is important to keep in mind that this location
is one of the gateways to the city. Additionally, as a member of the neighborhood, I would
like to see the memory of the library turned into a community asset that has a tax paying role.

My husband and I are considering ‘moving up’ to a larger home. Yet finding residential lots
near our area is currently limited to Katie Lane. We would like the opportunity to consider
one of the high quality homes proposed along the north of County Road E2 near the
intersection of New Brighton Road. There is the possibility that our two adult children will
live in this home with us. We see this as an opportunity to be a part of their lives and for
them as a part of our lives into the future. Our daughter will then return to residing in Arden
Hills, moving from Coon Rapids, bringing along her husband and two young children.
