CONSENT ITEM – 5B <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for April 27, 2015 <br /> <br />P:\Planning\Planning Cases\2015\PC 15-007 - City Code Amendments - Zoning, Subdivision, and Erosion Control\Memo_Reports_15-007 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: April 27, 2015 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Ryan Streff, City Planner <br /> John Anderson, Assistant City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Planning Case #15-007 <br /> Applicant: City of Arden Hills <br /> Request: Text Amendments – Zoning Code Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, <br />and Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />1) Motion to approve Ordinance Number 2015-002 for an amendment to Section 1325.05 of <br />the Zoning Code Ordinance, Ordinance Number 2015-003 for an amendment to Section <br />1140.08 of the Subdivision Ordinance, and Ordinance Number 2015-004 for amendments <br />to Section 1510.01 and Section 1520.01 of the Erosion and Sediment Control Ordinance, <br />based on the findings of fact as presented in the April 27, 2015, Report to the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />2) Motion to approve publishing a Summary of Ordinance 15-002, 15-003, and 15-004 (4/5 <br />vote required). <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The proposed amendments to the Arden Hills City Code being requested in Planning Case 15- <br />007 are required in order to comply with the Federal Clean Water Act and the State General <br />Stormwater Discharge Permit. These changes to the City Code are required so that certain land <br />disturbing activities meet the standards as set forth in the Rice Creek Watershed District rules <br />and regulations. The rules and regulations that have been adopted by the Rice Creek Watershed <br />District meet the Federal and State requirements and the proposed amendments would adopt <br />these rules and regulations as part of the City of Arden Hills Code of Ordinances.
