CONSENT ITEM – 5E <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: May 11, 2015 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br /> Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Appoint Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />City Council approved the appointment of eight Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Workers at their <br />meeting of April 13, 2015. <br /> <br />Since that time, staff has received the resignation of one of its full-time Public Works Maintenance Workers. <br />Staff discussed the situation with the Personnel Committee and they recommended hiring one additional <br />person from the original Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker recruitment. This will provide <br />additional help with the summer work load as well as offer assistance during the transition period as a new <br />full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker is hired. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Staff received twelve applications and interviewed all applicants on April 3, 2015, for the original Public <br />Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker recruitment. With an excellent pool of candidates to choose from; <br />staff was able to contact another potential seasonal worker from that recruitment. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />A motion for authorization to hire Daniel Crist as a Public Works Seasonal Maintenance Worker. <br />
