CONSENT ITEM – 6F <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for June 29, 2015 <br /> <br />P:\Planning\Planning Cases\2015\PC 15-011 - City Code Amendment - Temporary Parking Restrictions - Chapter 8\Memos_Reports_15-011 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: June 29, 2015 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Ryan Streff, City Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Planning Case #15-011 <br /> Applicant: City of Arden Hills <br />Subject: City Code Amendment – Temporary Parking Regulations <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />1) Motion to approve Ordinance 2015-005 in Planning Case 15-011 for an amendment to <br />Chapter 8 – Traffic and Motor Vehicles Section 800.03 (Parking Regulations) of the City <br />Code, as presented in the June 29, 2015, Report to the City Council. <br /> <br />2) Motion to approve publishing a Summary of Ordinance 2015-005 (4/5 vote required). <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The proposed amendment to Chapter 8 of the Arden Hills City Code in Planning Case 15-005 is <br />being requested to regulate temporary parking in the City. This amendment would allow the <br />City Administrator or designee to restrict parking on City streets for up to thirty (30) days. The <br />temporary parking restrictions may include, but are not limited to, no parking, 2 hour parking, <br />and parking on one side of the street. The proposed amendment to this section would help <br />address parking issues that have been identified in residential areas by the City’s Public Works <br />Department and the County Sheriff during special events such as the State Fair. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
