<br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6H <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: June 29, 2015 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br /> Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Appoint Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Position <br /> <br /> <br />Background and Discussion <br /> <br />At the May 11, 2015, City Council meeting, Scott Freyberger’s resignation as a Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker was accepted by the Council. At the same meeting, <br />authorization to advertise for the vacancy created by his resignation was granted. <br /> <br />The recruitment process resulted in 25 applicants for the position. Five applicants were <br />interviewed by the Public Works Director, the Public Works Superintendent, one Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker, and the City Clerk. After completing the interviews, the top <br />candidate was determined to be Michael Christofore. <br /> <br />The Council has previously received Mr. Christofore’s application materials under <br />separate cover. <br /> <br />Council Action <br /> <br />Staff recommends appointing Michael Christofore to the position of Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker contingent upon satisfactory background and reference checks, and <br />pre-employment physical. <br /> <br />
