(They were indicated on the architectural drawings.)
Part of the cost for the additional roof drains include an upsizing of the diameter of the rain water leader
which was indicated on the mechanical drawings. Dave Scherbel and the State plumbing reviewer requested
this upsizing.
The roof drains are necessary to make the building perform. They should have been indicated on the
mechanical drawings. We trust that the City's construction contingency can absorb the cost for the roof
drains. The cost to add the drains as a change order item may be slightly higher than if the drains had been
included in the original contractor bids.At issue is how much more the City may be paying for the drains now
than the City would have paid at bid date. We will attempt to identify the cost difference for you,but do not
believe that it is significant.
As we have stated before,we have spent much time during the construction phase of the project
incorporating City requested changes to the project.(e.g.,Guard office, additional private office, reception
counter revisions,etc.). As of this date we have not charged the City for this time.
