After several meetings, our needs were determined.
Architectural Alliance was authorized to put together a bid packet and advertise for bid.
On Thursday, April 26, 2001, Architectural Alliance held a bid opening at The Arden
Hills City Hall. The six low bidders were Albinsons,FSI, General Office Products,KI,
Pink, and Plantscape.
Bid Results
The grand total low bid for all items was $120,878.09. Bidders were allowed to bid on
individual items, with the low item bid, rather than the overall project bid, prevailing.
(See enclosure). The budget estimate for furniture was $155,000. The bid is $34,121.91
under the budget estimate. Council should note that kitchen appliances, lower level
storage shelving, or facility art work was not included in the bid packet.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council award the Furniture bid to the six low item
bidders (Albinsons, F.S.I., General Office Products, KI, Pink, and Plantscape) in an
amount not to exceed $120,878.09, and authorize the City Adminstrator to execute all
necessary documents and contracts to proceed with purchase and installation.
