June 4, 2015
Ryan Streff
City of Arden Hills
1245 West Highway 96
Arden Hills, MN 55112

RE: Verizon Wireless Project Name “MIN JOHANNA” and Municipal Water Tanks
Dear Mr. Streff,
Verizon Wireless is currently searching for a location to build a new cell site in your city to expand and
improve our wireless network. The project’s name is Johanna, named for nearby Lake Johanna. The
purpose of this letter is to explain what the intention of this new site is as well as clarifying why the
water tanks on Red Fox Rd and Cummings Park Dr do not fulfill our needs.
The primary purpose of this expansion is to reduce the total number of users to the South of our current
site named Arden Hills located near Hamline Avenue and I-494. 2 sectors of this current site pointing
Southeast and Southwest are experiencing high data growth and require us to expand our network to
serve this additional traffic.
In the following maps our requested rooftop location is labelled JOHANNA and the alternate water tank
locations are labelled JOHANNA – Red Fox and JOHANNA – Cummings accordingly. Other labels on
the maps indicate the names of existing cell sites. The following map shows the sectors that require
offloading and the portion of the coverage footprints we would like to move to the new site. You will
notice immediately that the Cummings Park Dr water tank North of the Arden Hills site is outside the
footprint of the heavily loaded sectors and therefore would definitely not meet our primary objective.
