Executive Summary Arden Hills Economic Development Commission has a mission to provide vision • and direction to the economic development efforts for the City of Arden Hills. In the context of this broad mission, the priorities for Arden Hills Economic Development Commission (AHEDC) are- 1. re:1. Ensure a sustainable, profitable, and competitive economic climate in the City; 2. identify and build local capacity to support economic development in the City; 3. Consider and evaluate outside capacity to enhance the economic development in the City; 4. Improve the economic security of Arden Hills' families 5. Enhance the City's Value of Conservation; and 6. Prepare Arden Hills' residents to be productive, positive contributors, equipped with life skills that are valued in the future. To pursue these priorities, the EDC will follow a strategic plan through 2012 comprised of the 19 goals and objectives presented below. In addition, this strategic plan addresses organizational excellence — the alignment of every facet of the Arden Hills Economic Development Commission to support effective • economic development delivery and execution in the City. The 19 goals identified in this plan are organized around four cornerstones for economic development: Building an Organization that Supports Economic Development Creating a Community that Fosters Economic Activity Retaining the Existing Business Base Attracting New Investment Approvals and Adoptions This plan was adopted by the Arden Hills Economic Development Commission at their regular meeting on August 16, 2006, Bruce Kunkel presiding. The plan was then forwarded to the Arden Hills City Council for review and approval.
