-AR) EN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: January 12, 2007 <br /> FROM: Jackie Freppert, Office Support Specialist <br /> SUBJECT: City Business Licensing <br /> The City requires all businesses within Arden Hills to complete a Business License/Registration <br /> form annually. All businesses who have previously registered with the City are sent out an <br /> annual renewal notice around November. The businesses are given until roughly January 1St of <br /> the current year return their licensing materials. Businesses are sent out reminders in the event <br /> their licensing materials are not returned in a timely manner. Currently, there is no penalty that <br /> is imposed for delinquent license filing. <br /> Annual renewal notices are sent out to the attention of the business name or "current occupant" <br /> so that in the event a new occupant is at that location, they will still receive their renewal notice. <br /> If a renewal notice is returned from the post office due to a vacancy at that location, it is sent out <br /> each year after that to the "current occupant". <br /> The licensing materials consist of completing the current application form, submitting a <br /> certificate of insurance, and submitting proper payment(if any is due). <br /> The required certificate of insurance is needed to prove each business carries liability insurance <br /> and workman's compensation to the minimum acceptable levels. <br /> The following types of businesses and activities are charged a fee for their business license. <br /> Each applicant is on the "honor" system when indicating their activities and fee amount as the <br /> City does not perform a site visit to verify the activities. p <br /> NA� Z <br /> uj I <br />
