The city has a lot of meetings, hearings, etc., but not much gets done and the residents do not have a good <br /> working relationship with the city management.The latter is too insular and tries to run the city on the <br /> cheap. Frankly, I am rather tired of the tatty look of AH--unmowed grass, rotten streets, and a 14 year <br /> effort on my part before the terrible looking fire h ydrants got paintged. <br /> Council has denied development at the City Hall site and Presb Homes expansion at D and New Brighton <br /> Rd. b listenin to a few homeowners, not the business community <br /> Perha s TOO good? <br /> Way to good for some and not good enough for others. The bias is towards large corporate business-albeit <br /> the are easier to deal with sometimes. Some businesses, such as the day care <br /> center at Hamline and 96 seem to get away with code violations and this does nothing for the city...rather <br /> degrades it.
