City of Arden Hills - Comprehensive Plan- DRAFT
The City also has three emergency cross connections with adjacent
communities. The Arden Hills-Shoreview connections, which are eight-
inch lines across Lexington Avenue, one just north of Grey Fox Road, the
other north of Cummings Park Drive. The third line is a connection to New
Brighton, which is an eight-inch line across Stowe Avenue just east of
Cleveland Avenue.
Appendix X includes the updated Water Supply Plan for Arden Hills.
Since a land use plan for the proposed redevelopment of the TCAAP
property has not yet been adopted, this Plan does not reflect future water
needs on the TCAAP property. This Plan will need to be updated once a
final land use plan has been selected.
13.1.2 Sanitary Sewer
Sanitary sewer interceptor and treatment is provided to the City via the
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) system. Within the
City, the system is under the jurisdiction of the City's sanitary sewer utility.
Historically, the sanitary sewer utility has been managed to be self-
supporting, with future infrastructure replacement needs financed from
revenues generated from the fees paid by users.
The City operates and maintains fourteen (14) sanitary sewer lift stations.
Since 1990, ten (10) of these have been replaced. The last four lift
stations to be replaced are scheduled for replacement in the next ten (10)
years., The City also operates and maintains two water towers and one
booster station (water pumping facilities.) All of these facilities require
around the clock monitoring. It is in the City's CIP to acquire SCADA
(supervisory control and data acquisition) in the next five (5)years, which
will allow staff to monitor all lift stations and water supply facilities
remotely.
Describe current conditions, maintenance program, frequency of
televising, and replacement schedule.
Appendix X includes the Sanitary Sewer Plan for Arden Hills. Since a land
use plan for the proposed redevelopment of the TCAAP property has not
yet been adopted, this Plan does not reflect future sewer needs on the
TCAAP property. This Plan will need to be updated once a final land use
plan has been selected.
13.1.3 Storm Water/Surface Water Drainage
DRAFT 86
3/14/2008
