District Design Guidelines <br /> Green <br /> Private Spaces <br /> A generous amount of plant material should be used on every new <br /> development site. Office parking areas should include generous <br /> perimeter and internal landscaping. Parking structures should have <br /> upgraded facade finishes and be visually softened with plantings. <br /> Parking Areas <br /> 1 Plantings should be used to soften and shade parking lots and parking <br /> structures. Parking and service areas should be visually screened from <br /> street views with plantings and architectural treatments. <br /> Parking lots islands should be used to distribute lar <br /> ge parking fields into <br /> separate"outdoor rooms"that have visual relationships to the buildings <br /> they serve. Parking lot islands should be planted with trees or include <br /> infiltration basins and naturalized plantings. Entry drives should be <br /> defined by trees and shrubs. <br /> Parking adjacent to street should be screened from views with low <br /> hedges or masonry walls.
