CONSENT ITEM – 1B <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: December 21, 2015 <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Acting City Administrator <br /> Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Step and Grade Change for Associate Planner Position <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee recommended the adoption of a new compensation system <br />earlier in the year which the Council adopted effective July 1, 2015. As part of that <br />study, all positions were reviewed and placed into the new system. At the time of the <br />study, a Senior Planner position was created and graded by the consultant for future use. <br />This position was placed in Pay Grade 13. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee felt that the Associate Planner position needed further review <br />and discussion of the current duties in this position. After further discussions and <br />research, the Personnel Committee is now recommending that Matthew Bachler be <br />placed in the Senior Planner position, Grade 13 – Step 2, effective January 1, 2016. <br /> <br />Council Action <br /> <br />A motion to move Matthew Bachler to the position of Senior Planner, Grade 13, Step 2 <br />effective January 1, 2016. <br />
