The City Council directed staff <br />to complete further work on display area dimension standards, the types of products that could be <br />displayed, and screening from residential properties. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Dimension Standards <br />At the City Council Work Session on October 19, 2015, staff presented the following <br />recommendation for permitted outdoor display areas: two percent of the floor area of the <br />principal building or 300 square feet, whichever area is greater. The City Council directed staff <br />to establish an overall cap of 1,000 square feet for display areas. The dimension standard has <br />since been revised to read as follows: <br /> <br />1. The total display and sales area shall be determined based on the following formula: <br /> <br />a.
