DATE: January 11, 2016 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Sue Iverson, Acting City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Appointment of Dan Erickson as Chair of the Economic Development <br />Commission (EDC) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />On December 14, 2015, the City Council accepted the resignation of Steve Heikkila as the Chair <br />of the Economic Development Commission effective January 31, 2016. Chair Heikkila’s place <br />of business will be moving out of Arden Hills, and he will be unable to continue his membership <br />on the EDC. <br /> <br />Dan Erickson, an EDC Commissioner since 2009, has agreed to fulfill the role as Chair of the <br />EDC beginning on February 1, 2016. Commissioner Erickson’s current term expires December <br />31, 2017. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Council approve Resolution 2016-004 appointing Dan Erickson <br />as Chair of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) effective February 1, 2016 with a <br />term expiration of December 31, 2017. <br /> <br />Attachment <br /> <br />Attachment A: Resolution 2016-004 <br /> <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6I <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br />
