<br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for February 29, 2016 <br />P:\Planning\Planning Cases\2016\PC 16-004 - Boston Scientific - Site Plan Review\Memos_Reports_16-004 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> CONSENT ITEM – 6B <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: February 29, 2016 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Sue Iverson, Acting City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Matthew Bachler, Senior Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Planning Case #16-004 <br /> Applicant: Boston Scientific Corporation <br /> Property Location: 4100 Hamline Avenue North <br /> Request: Site Plan Review and Deadline Extension Request <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Motion to approve Planning Case 16-004 for a Site Plan Review and for an amendment to <br />Section 5, Paragraph F and Paragraph G of the 12th Amendment to the Master PUD Agreement <br />for Boston Scientific at 4100 Hamline Avenue North, based on the findings of fact and the <br />submitted plans, as amended by the twelve (12) conditions in the February 29, 2016, Report to <br />the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The Boston Scientific campus at 4100 Hamline Avenue North operates under a PUD originally <br />approved in 2002 for the Guidant Corporation. The last comprehensive update to the PUD and <br />Campus Master Plan took place in 2015 when the City approved a subdivision of the property to <br />help facilitate the sale of Buildings A, B, and C located in the southwest corner of the campus <br />(Planning Case 15-001). The location of future buildings and parking ramps on the Campus <br />Master Plan was revised at this time so the two new lots could function independently. Lot 1 <br />includes Buildings A, B, and C and a parking ramp and is currently being marketed to potential <br />buyers. Lot 2 will continue to function as the Boston Scientific campus. <br /> <br />New building construction or site modifications identified on the Campus Master Plan require a <br />Site Plan Review prior to construction. The proposed construction includes a skyway connecting <br />Buildings 3 and 10 and modifications to the surface parking lot north of Building 10 to <br />accommodate the skyway.
