Employee Recognition Program <br /> Years of Service <br /> Employee will receive a gift certificate in the amount of$10 on their first anniversary with the <br /> City. After their first year of service, employees will be recognized every five years by receiving <br /> a gift certificate in the amount equal to $10 for every year of service. Employees will also <br /> receive a letter from the City Administrator and their supervisor acknowledging their years of <br /> service. Copy of this letter will be placed in non-agenda packet so that Council is kept abreast of <br /> employee status. <br /> Exceptional Performance <br /> Letters received from residents or other individuals recognizing an employees superior <br /> performance will be copied into the non-agenda packet for Council recognition. These letters of <br /> acknowledgement will also be noted in the Employee Newsletter(described below). <br /> Money or Time Saving Idea <br /> An employee may submit their idea, or a fellow employee may submit another employee's idea, <br /> that was implemented by the City of which improved either operating efficiency or saved the <br /> City money. The committee will solicit comments from the employees supervisor indicating the <br /> magnitude of improved efficiency or cost savings. The committee will then review the idea and <br /> the supervisor's comments and approval or deny a$50 gift certificate award. If a gift certificate <br /> is awarded to the employee, the committee will purchase this gift certificate and deliver it to the <br /> employee's supervisor. The employee's supervisor will be responsible for notifying the <br /> employee of the award. <br /> If an idea is denied an award, the employee shall be notified as to the reasons for denial. More <br /> than one employee a month can receive this award. <br /> Retirement <br /> Upon notification of retirement, employee will receive a gift certificate equaling $10 per every <br /> year of service. <br /> Employee will be presented with a Mayoral proclamation and plaque recognizing their service to <br /> the city at City Council meeting closest to their retirement date. <br /> Employee Newsletter <br /> A bimonthly newsletter will be distributed to all employees. This newsletter may include such <br /> items as employee birthdays, anniversaries, department highlights, employee spotlights, etc. The <br /> newsletter will be reviewed and approved by the City Administrator before distribution to <br /> employees. <br /> Committee Guidelines <br /> The Committee will be comprised of 6 members. Membership will be rotated annually. The <br /> committee will meet quarterly, or as needed. <br />
