GoodPointe Technology Corporation November 13, 2006
Pathway Evaluation for the City of Arden Hills
6
Under this task, GoodPointe proposes a sidewalk evaluation survey for the City of Arden Hills.
Task Assumptions:
• GoodPointe to provide a detailed surface condition survey evaluation of the walkpaths
and sidewalks under the City's jurisdiction as indicated in Exhibit B.;
• A quantitative SCI (Sidewalk Condition Index) score will be calculated for each
pavement inventory unit based on a condition survey methodology, which includes
distress severity levels and quantity measurements of observed sidewalk-related
distresses (e.g. 'slab faulting', etc.);
• The City will be able to use the ICON program to generate budget scenario analysis
plans for the sidewalk system, provided that the necessary policy parameters are
established (performance curves, repair strategies, unit costs, etc.);
• Additionally the City will be able to track maintenance activities and historical condition
information for each sidewalk inventory unit in the same manner as the City's street
ICON PMS;
Pricing: $2,250.00 lump sum*
This price is based on evaluating the pavement condition information for the
inventory referenced in Exhibit B. If additional pathways and/or sidewalks are to
be evaluated beyond the scope of Exhibit B., GoodPointe reserves the right to
submit an updated cost estimate to the City for review and acceptance.
. TWIT-Tel
GoodPointe has developed a premium support agreement for the ICON program to help our
clients to generate results with the program. Here are some value-added analysis ideas that
could be performed under the ICON Premium Support Consulting Option:
• Interview the City to document the sidewalk management distresses, repair strategies,
unit costs, performance curves.
• Establish an ICON sidewalk management system database for installation at the City.
• Assist with the association of the sidewalk inventory to the City's GIS coverage of the
sidewalk network on an as-needed basis.
• Assist with the installation of the necessary ICON executables at the City for ongoing
use and maintenance.
• Provide onsite, hands-on ICON system training at the City.
Copyright 2006 GoodPointe Technology Corporation All Rights Reserved Page 2 of 5
