Moore; Parks & Recreation Director k,• <br />SUBJECT: Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan — Vendor Selection <br />Proposal <br />Background <br />The planning process for the City's first Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan began <br />at the April 25, 2000 Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee (PTRC) meeting. At that <br />meeting, the PTRC voted unanimously to present the concept of a Comprehensive Park <br />and Recreation plan to Council for approval. Staff presented a Memorandum; Proposal <br />for a Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan (attached) at the June 26, 2000 City <br />Council meeting. Councilmember Grant moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a <br />motion to approve funding of a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan at a cost not to <br />exceed 160,000, and the cost be covered under the Community Services Fund. The <br />motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br />Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee <br />The Vendor selection process took five months and 148 hours of staff and PTRC time to <br />complete. The following three Vendors were selected to make a presentation to the <br />PTRC; URS/BRW, Inc., Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. and Ingraham & Associates. The <br />final selection was made at the November 28, 2000 PTRC meeting. The process took <br />three hours to complete. The PTRC unanimously selected Ingraham & Associates as the <br />preferred Vendor for the Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan. The PTRC voted <br />unanimously to present Ingraham & Associates as the preferred Vendor to the City <br />Council for approval. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Ingraham & Associates as the Vendor <br />for the City's first Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan. <br />K4t,--4, <br />
