06. • . ARDEN HILLS PARKS, TRAILS & RECREATION COMMITTEE V Mr. Tix inquired as to whether the Comprehensive Plan for the parks could include gardens with or without gateway signage. Mr. Moore indicated the Plan could include gardens but at this time does not. Mr. Zilmer inquired if Mr. Moore had received other estimates to construct the gardens. Mr. Moore indicated he had only received a quote from the City Engineer. Mr. Zilmer indicated he would like to see other quotes before deciding on a garden style/cost. Consent was reached by the Committee to direct Staff to obtain two additional bids for construction of the gardens. UPDATE ON THE PARK COMPREHENSIVE PLAN Mr. Moore told the Committee the November meeting of the Park, Trails and Recreation Committee will be completely devoted to discussion on the Park Comprehensive Plan. The Committee will need to make a decision as to which plan it supports and wishes to present to Council for approval. Upon approval of Council the process is scheduled to begin January 1, 2001. ARDEN MANOR PARK CONSTRUCTION PROJECT — PHASE 11 Phase 11 of the Arden Manor Park Construction Project is scheduled to begin this week. There are three components of Phase II which include fencing, blacktopping the existing road, and landscaping. PARK UPDATE Mr. Moore requested members of the Committee turn in their park evaluations. He will tabulate the results of the survey and bring statistics to the December meeting. The Boy Scouts have completed the projects in Crepeau Park. The Boy Scouts will be invited to the November meeting to recognize their efforts and thank them for their hard work. Mr. Moore reviewed with the Committee various handouts included in their packets. Consent was reached by the Committee to direct Mr. Moore to apply to have Arden Hills recognized as a Tree City USA. DATE/TIME OF NEXT MEETING By consensus, the next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
