2. We are in the process of hiring summer playground leaders. Playground leaders will <br />attend the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association (MRPA) Leadership <br />workshop on June 3, 2000. <br />3. T-Ball, Softball and Baseball start next week. We have plenty of coaches. <br />4. The new Recreation Guide format was approved by City Council. We are putting <br />together all the information now and hope to see it mailed out on August 1, 2000. <br />The Council is working on getting a new logo and would like it to appear on the first <br />mailing of the new Recreation Guide. <br />PARK UPDATE <br />The controlled burn at Crepeau Park went very well. It was a joint effort by <br />Public Works and the Parks Department. We are also working with the Boy <br />Scouts to do some work to update the Park. <br />2. Yearly reviews have been given to Dave Winkel, Fred Bell and Michelle Olson. <br />3. Part time summer help has been hired. <br />4. Fields are busy which keeps us all busy. <br />• 5. Staff would like to see the Committee nominate Don Messerly for Park Citizen of <br />the Year. He won the award last year so the Committee decided to nominate <br />Dorothy McClung. A motion was made by Rich Straumann and seconded by <br />Steve Zilmer. Motion carried 5-0. <br />OTHER ITEMS. <br />Pat Krenn inquired about Hazelnut Soccer Field and wondered if that field could <br />be improved. It is hard and has rocks.
