City of Arden Hills Chapter 8 - Traffic and Motor Vehicles <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />8- 2 <br />Adopted December 17, 2001 <br />Subd. 9 Administrative Procedures. The city administrator shall adopt, from time to time, <br />procedures to provide for the safe and consistent application of the parking regulations. The city <br />administrator may grant variances from the application of parking regulations provided that the <br />variances can be allowed without creating a safety hazard. Administrative variances shall be in <br />writing and shall state the specific time limits during which the variation will be allowed to occur. <br /> <br />Subd. 10 Impoundment. <br /> <br />A. Any vehicle parked in violation of this subsection is hereby declared to be a traffic <br />safety hazard and nuisance, and the same may be summarily abated by removing <br />and towing away such vehicle by or under the direction or at the request of any <br />member of the City's designated law enforcement provider. Such vehicle shall be <br />stored at such place within or without the City as may be directed by the City's <br />designated law enforcement provider; and within fourteen (14) days of such <br />impounding, the City’s designated law enforcement provider shall mail written notice <br />thereof to the owner at his or her last known address according to the vehicle <br />registration records of the state. Before the owner or his or her agent shall be <br />permitted to remove the vehicle from the custody of the City's designated law <br />enforcement provider, he or she shall furnish satisfactory evidence of identity and <br />ownership of the vehicle, pay all reasonable charges for the towing and storage of <br />the vehicle and sign a written receipt for the vehicle. <br /> <br />B. As an alternative to the foregoing, the officer may require the owner of an illegally <br />parked vehicle to remove said vehicle from the subject street or highway during the <br />times limited above. <br /> <br />Subd. 11 Prima Facie Evidence of Violation. The operation, use or parking of a motor vehicle <br />in violation of this subsection shall be prima facie evidence that the motor vehicle was at the <br />time of the violation controlled, operated and used by the owner thereof. <br /> <br />Subd. 12 Temporary Parking Restrictions. The City Administrator or designee may post <br />temporary parking restrictions on City streets for up to thirty (30) days in duration. Temporary <br />parking restrictions may include, but are not limited to, no parking, 2 hour parking, and parking <br />on one side of the street. <br /> <br /> <br />
