• MINUTES <br /> PARKS, TRAILS & RECREATION COMMITTEE <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 27, 2001, 7:00 P.M. <br /> ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> 4634 W. ROUND LAKE ROAD <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Acting Chairperson Messerly called the March 27, 2001 meeting of the Parks, Trails and <br /> Recreation Committee to order at 7:06 p.m. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT <br /> Members present were Don Tix, Jim Crassweller, Rich Straumann (7:20 p.m.), Don <br /> Messerly, Tom Moore, Council Liaison Gregg Larson, and Joan Lenzmeier, Recording <br /> Secretary. <br /> MEMBERS ABSENT <br /> Members absent were Louis Speggen, Jim Johnson, Steve Zilmer, and Patrick Krenn. <br /> • APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> The Agenda was approved by consensus. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> MOTION: Committee Member Crassweller moved and Committee Member <br /> Tix seconded the motion to approve the February 27, 2001 minutes <br /> as presented. The motion carried unanimously. <br /> PARK AND RECREATION UPDATE <br /> Mr. Moore reported he was going to ask for approval of the purchase of the play structure <br /> for Sampson Park but will hold off due to lack of a quorum. He noted Staff had mailed <br /> notice to 300 plus residents and received five calls all in support of the park <br /> improvement. <br /> Committee Member Crassweller recommend Staff move ahead with the purchase and ask <br /> the Committee to approve it at the next meeting. <br /> Mr. Moore reported there would be a Mounds View senior who is working toward <br /> . achieving Eagle Scout status who will be building 20 to 30 birdhouses of varying types <br /> for Crepeau Park. He also noted he had informed the boy scouts the City was looking for <br /> assistance with planting grass after the controlled burn. <br />
