Background/Overview of Request: <br /> <br />Scherer Brothers Lumber Company operates a full service lumber yard that offers a wide variety <br />of construction products and services at their Arden Hills location. As stated within the project <br />narrative (Attachment A) the Vice President of the company has expressed their commitment to <br />effectively maintain and improve their property in Arden Hills. In order to fulfill this <br />commitment the applicant is requesting to replace the ageing wall signage along the western <br />façade/Interstate 35W side of the accessory building at the northwest corner of the property. <br /> <br />The proposed request includes the replacement of the existing 180 square foot “Scherer Bros. <br />Lumber Company” sign with a new 165 square foot Scherer Brothers logo and letter set as <br />depicted in Attachment B. As proposed the new non-illuminated sign would be approximately
