CONSENT ITEM – 5L <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: April 25, 2016 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Sue Iverson, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Appoint Seasonal Maintenance Workers <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Annually the City hires temporary seasonal workers to help with summer maintenance in Public Works. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Staff received eight applications for the seasonal maintenance worker positions. One of the applicants <br />withdrew his application prior to interviews being held. The remaining seven applicants were interviewed on <br />April 21, 2016. One of the interviewed applicants withdrew his application after interviewing. <br /> <br />The remaining six applicants who were interviewed are being recommended for the seasonal public works <br />positions. <br /> <br />Staff will continue to accept applications in an attempt to find two more seasonal workers, which will fulfill <br />the desired number of seasonal maintenance worker positions. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />1.
