<br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />CONSENT ITEM – 5M <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: April 25, 2016 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br /> Amy Dietl, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Appoint Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Position <br /> <br /> <br />Background and Discussion <br /> <br />At the February 29, 2016, City Council meeting, Dave Winkel’s resignation as a Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker was accepted by the Council. At the same meeting, <br />authorization to advertise for the vacancy created by his resignation was granted. <br /> <br />The recruitment process resulted in 33 applicants for the position. Six applicants were <br />interviewed by the Public Works Superintendent, one Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker, and the Interim City Administrator/Director of Finance and Administrative <br />Services. After completing the interviews, the top candidate was determined to be Mark <br />Moser. <br /> <br />The Council has previously received Mr. Moser’s application materials under separate <br />cover. <br /> <br />Council Action <br /> <br />Staff recommends appointing Mark Moser to the position of Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker contingent upon satisfactory background and reference checks, and pre- <br />employment physical. <br /> <br />
