Council directed <br />staff to put this item on the Consent Calendar for the April 25, 2016 meeting for approval. As <br />such, staff is seeking City Council authorization to begin summer work hours on May 31, 2016, <br />and conclude on September 6, 2016. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />For many years, the City changed its hours to “summer hours” after Memorial Day. The summer <br />hours schedule enables extended hours of City services for construction contractors and residents <br />who have construction projects or other city business. <br /> <br /> Traditional Hours Proposed Summer Hours <br />City Hall Staff 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br />Monday – Friday <br />7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Monday – Thursday <br />7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br />on Friday <br />Maintenance Facility Staff 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. <br />Monday – Friday <br />6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Monday – Thursday <br />6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. <br />on Friday <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Motion by the City Council to authorize City staff to begin summer work hours on May 31, <br />2016, and conclude on September 6, 2016. <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 5B <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br />
