Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />DATE: May 16, 2016 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Susan Iverson, Acting City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: John Anderson, Acting Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Lakeshore Place Landscaping <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Provide staff with feedback on this funding scenario. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />In 2011 along with the discussion related to municipal consent for the County Rd 96 / TH 10 <br />grade separation project there was a commitment made to provide visual screening for Lakeshore <br />Place residents. The details of this screening was to be provided in two parts. The first a tall <br />poured concrete wall on top of the retaining wall that separates Lakeshore place from the <br />interchange. The second part discussed involved plantings to help screen the highway from the <br />residences. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Ramsey County has worked with MnDOT landscape partnership to develop a plan to provide <br />both landscape amenities and screening. The funding for this work is proposed to be provided <br />through a number of sources. Generally, the following is the concept of funding for funding this <br />work. Long term maintenance of the planting on Lakeshore Place would be up to the City of <br />Arden Hills.
