A lighting plan would be required for any new <br />development, redevelopment, or addition for a commercial, industrial, or multi-family use, which <br />would allow the City to evaluate conformance with the design standards. <br /> <br />Based on direction previously provided by the City Council, staff has included language in the <br />amendment that prohibit s architectural accent lighting used to advertise buildings or properties. <br />This would include LED illuminated accent lighting increasingly seen on gas station canopies <br />and fast food restaurant buildings. Lighting of architectural features would only be permitted <br />where the intent is to provide accent or interest, or to help identify building entrances. <br /> <br />Next Steps <br /> <br />Based on the feedback provided by the City Council, staff will complete revisions to the draft <br />amendment to Section 1325.05, Subd. 3. The Planning Commission will be required to hold a <br />public hearing on the proposed amendment prior to formal action by the City Council on this <br />item. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />A.
