ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL – JUNE 27, 2016 3 <br /> <br />D. GreenStep City – First Step <br /> <br />Recreation Coordinator Grant stated at the League of Minnesota Cities Conference, the City of <br />Arden Hills was presented with the First Step award from the GreenStep City program. She <br />presented the First Step award to the City Council and Mayor Grant. <br /> <br />4. STAFF COMMENTS <br /> <br />A. Rice Creek Commons (TCAAP) and Joint Development Authority (JDA) Update <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator and Director of Finance and Administrative Services Iverson <br />provided an update from Stacie Kvilvang on TCAAP and the JDA noting the following: <br /> <br /> Development <br />• The master development team held their internal design charrette on June 23, 2016, to <br />begin the process of determining their vision for development of the site. <br /> <br />• The master development team hired Kimley-Horn as their Civil Engineer for the site. They <br />will be assisting in pre-planning work including but not limited to road and utility <br />infrastructure, mass grading, developable lot configuration, TGRS related issues, etc. <br /> <br />Meetings <br />• City and County staff, Ehlers, and the master developer held their weekly project meetings <br />on June 15th and 22nd. <br /> <br />Communications/Media <br />• On June 16, 2016, the Pioneer Press ran the attached article on the master developer team <br />for TCAAP. <br /> <br />• The County is planning a media event tentatively for August 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. It is <br />expected the City (Mayor) will have a role in the event. Details will be provided as more is <br />known and date will be confirmed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden questioned what would be presented on August 10. <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator and Director of Finance and Administrative Services Iverson <br />stated this was just a placeholder and more information would be forthcoming regarding this <br />event. <br /> <br />B. Transportation Update <br /> <br />Acting Public Works Director Anderson reported work continues on Interstate I-694. Motorists <br />are encouraged to plan their trips as the westbound lanes were split into express and local lanes. <br />He discussed the ramp closures on I-694. <br />
